There are two separate electrical systems in the Solis, a 12v system and a 120v system.
12ov #
The 120v system is fairly simple as it is only powered by the generator in the 59PX or by plugging info shore power (electrical inlet on driver side of vehicle). The incoming 120v powers three items, the AC outlets around the van, the Air Conditioner and the it provides a charging current for the 12v system. The 12v charging current both charges the batteries and will provide power to whatever 12v items that are on.
There is no inverter (this converts 12v power to 120v power) standard on the Solis.
12V System #
The 12v system is quite a bit more complicated.
The 12V power system has 4 sources of power.
- Solar Panel and Controller – 220watt panel on the roof and a Xantrex Solar Charge Controller
- 120v Converter which is part of the WF-8945 Power distribution and converter center
- Alternator
- House Batteries
Each of these sources aides in providing 12v power to the various lights and USB ports around the Solis and the water pump.
